Corona Virus Update

We are pleased to be able to announce that Sacred Heart Church, Colne, will be open for private prayer beginning on Monday, 29th June, 2020 at 2pm. For all the times and for more information please see the newsletter (newsletter page) for the Feast of Ss Peter and Paul, 28th June 2020.

We will continue to ‘live-stream’ the Mass each morning, but it would appear that it will not be long before we are able to celebrate Holy Mass with a (small) congregation.

The latest statement from the Five Metropolitan Archbishops, who are representing all the bishops of England and Wales may be accessed by clicking on this link.

The Archbishops’ statement on Sunday 4th May 2020

You can access live-steamed services from Sacred Heart Church via the Webcam page on this website.
Mass is at 9.30am on Sunday and then at 10.00am from Monday to Saturday inclusive. All of these Masses are also recorded and the recordings accessible if you scroll down the Church Services TV page which contains our live transmission.

I am delighted that Father Gerard Kelly from St. John Southworth Parish, Nelson, is alternating these Masses with me and look forward to a continued cooperation between our two parishes when things start to return to ‘normal’.

You are all very much in our prayers and thoughts especially at Mass each day, either the live streamed one or the one we say alone on alternate days.
God bless you and keep you safe.
Fr. Peter

There are also regular services during the day from the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham on www.walsingham.org.uk.
